  • Rise School of Houston Visit

    Volunteers from the Rice University Butterfly Books chapter and the broader university community joined forces to visit the Rise School of Houston, an affiliate of Texas Children’s Hospital serving students with developmental delays and disabilities. The team facilitated an interactive read-aloud and donated crafts and books for each student to bring home with them!

  • Krafts for Kids Installation

    During the Krafts for Kids Butterfly Books event held at Rice University, our team worked with college volunteers to make tote bags, flower-pressed bookmarks, and Letters of Love for children coping with a parent’s cancer diagnosis at Camp Kesem in Summer 2026.

  • Valentine's Day Letters of Love

    Butterfly Books at Rice kicked off the second semester making Valentine’s Day themed Letters of Love for children receiving treatment in local Houston hospitals. Stay tuned for more events coming soon!

Book Bundles

  • Rise School of Houston Visit

    Butterfly Books volunteers hand-selected and donated a total of 100 books and crafts for Rise’s 10 classrooms, tailoring to students’ interests and pairing them with a fun wooden craft activity.

  • Krafts for Kids Installation

    The Butterfly Books team and its wonderful group of volunteers worked to make 4 tote bags, 50 flower bookmarks, and 10 personalized letters for each child!

  • Girls Who Inspire - Author Taylor Yu

    Butterfly Books partnered with Founder of Girls Who Inspire and local Houston teenager Taylor Yu for a giveaway of her books, Biomolecules of Lunch and Smart Savings at Lunch!

    Butterfly Books at Rice was excited to kick off our first semester with a collaboration with a fellow Rice student, Suraiya Matandara-Clarke, for a giveaway of one of her books in The Chosen Triphants Series!
